Route 2026 – Swentibold-Mars

START: Oude Markt, Sittard
Turn left (= Kloosterplein), 50m turn right (= Deken Thijssenstraat), 150m turn left (= Begijnenhofstraat), at the end of the road turn right (= Brandstraat), go straight ahead at the Parklaan intersection due to roadworks and then after 50m turn left (= Sjteegske), cross the end of Sjteegske (= Wilhelminastraat) (= Kleine Steeg). Cross Agricolastraat (= Steegstraat). At the end of the road turn right (= Ophoven). 1st turn right (= Geuweg). Cross Rijksweg Zuid (= Geuweg). Cross the railway and then turn right (= Seringenstraat). At the end of the road turn left (= Geraniumstraat). After +/- 150 meters, follow the path on the right towards the railway bridge. After the railway bridge turn left (= Bokscoulweg). At the end of the road turn right (= Lissabonlaan). 1st turn right (= Parijsboulevard). 2nd turn left (= Stockholmstraat). At the traffic lights cross Bergerweg (= Industriestraat). In Industriestraat take the first street on the left (= Fischerpad). Go through the tunnel and immediately after turn right (= Steijnkuilweg). At the end of the road turn right (= Leeuwerik). Continue following this lane until the end of the farmland on the left. After 200 m, take the path to the left. It comes out at the Ringweg in Limbricht (5 km). Cross there and enter Prof. Mentenlaan. At the end turn right (= Achter de Hoven) and immediately turn left again (= Salviusstraat). On Bovenstraat turn left and immediately turn right again (= Sportlaan). On Sportlaan take the 5th road on the left (= Klinkekoulsweg). At the end of the road turn right (= Limbrichterweg). In Guttecoven (7 km) go straight ahead at the intersection (= Dwarsstraat, Kerkstraat). First street turn right (= Wijnrankenstraat) and go straight ahead (= Veersestraat). At the three-way junction turn right and immediately at the next three-way junction turn left (= Rijstraat). First road turn left (= Rothweg). After the tunnel turn right (= Heiveldweg). 1st turn left (= Vreebosweg). 1st turn right (= Bosweg). In Born (10.5 km) at the three-way junction with Kempstraat and Kerkstraat, continue on Kerkstraat. 3rd turn left (= Tiendstraat). On Tiendstraat take the 1st left onto Graaf v. Loonstraat. At the end of the road turn right (= Groenstraat). At the end of the road turn left (= Oude Baan). Follow this road until Graetheide (13 km). At the end of the village turn right (= Schutterskampweg). After the bridge turn right (= Brugstraat). At the 2nd intersection turn left (= Ecrevissestraat). 3rd road turn right (= Emmastraat, Maasstraat). At the monument turn left (= Dijk)
Rest stop Obbicht: Schutterijzaal, Harrecoven 27, Obbicht (16 km)
Keep following the dike until Grevenbicht (17.5 km) at the Maaskoul. Turn right here (= Pannesheuvel) and immediately left (= Steenweg, Staai). Take the 2nd road on the right (= Merker-Eyckstraat). Then turn left (= Op de Coul). After house number 20, turn right (= Ruijtersweg). At the 3-way junction, keep right (= Lookerweg) and at the intersection turn left (= Ruitersdijk). Follow the dike until Illikhoven (21 km). Turn left here (= Illikhoven). Pass ’t Maashuuske, briefly left (= Vissersweert) and keep right before the viaduct (= Ruitersdijk). At the end of Ruitersdijk, turn right (= Kokkelertstraat). Cross Maaseikerweg and turn right onto the bike path towards Roosteren (24.5 km). Take the 1st road on the left (= Op de Kampes, Eykholtstraat). At the end of the road, turn left (= Maasheuvel). From here, the route merges with the Kennedy-Mars. Take the first road on the right (= Schettereind). At the priority road, turn left (= Kasteel ter Borchstraat, Maaseikerweg). In Dieteren, immediately take the first (closed) road on the left (= Roosterderweg). At the end of the road, turn right (= Kerkstraat) and immediately left (= Vleutstraat).
Rest stop Dieteren: Community Center De Koppel, Vleutstr. 22 (27 km)
Twice r.a. (= Louerstraat). Through the small tunnel 1st r.a. (= Chris Plitscherlaan). After the small playground l.a. (= Posterholtlaan) and then 3rd l.a. (= Schutterslaantje) and immediately l.a. again (= Poorterslaan). End of road r.a. (= Louerstraat) until the Oude Rijksweg in Susteren (28 km) r.a. Cross Oude Rijksweg at the level of Swentiboldstraat and from Swentiboldstraat then after 150 m r.a. (= Feurthstraat). Feurthstraat turns into Marktstraat, keep following. End of Markt l.a. (= Salvatorstraat). At the intersection go straight ahead to Salvatorplein. Right past the church (= Relindisstraat, Op de Wallen, Abdijlaan). Third road r.a. (= Molenveldweg). Second road r.a. (= In de Mehre).
On Stationsstraat r.a. and after the railway crossing on the bike path towards Nieuwstadt.
In Nieuwstadt (33 km) first street r.a (= Grachtstraat). 2nd road l.a. (= Susterderpoort). 2nd street l.a. (= Markt) and immediately r.a. end of Markt l.a. (= Haverterstraat) and 2nd road r.a. (= Haverterpoort / Sint Maartenswal). End of street r.a. (= Hoofdstraat) and then l.a. at the gas station (= Millenerpoort). On the priority road r.a. (= Op de Brug, Sittarderweg, Nusterweg).
In Sittard at the traffic lights r.a. (= Dr. Nolenslaan). Cross at the level of Heuts Automaterialen and then l.a. (= Rijksweg Noord) and follow the bike path on the left. After the roundabout 2nd road l.a. (= Heistraat, Overhoven). At community center Oos Kaar (= Heistraat) keep right (= Heistraat, Overhoven). Cross at the end of the road l.a. (= Odasingel). Continue on Odasingel until Haspelsestraat, here r.a. and then cross Haspelsestraat l.a. (= Lank Getske). At the Rosaflat r.a. (= Kerkepad) and then l.a. (= Achter Fort Picard). End of path r.a. (= Paardestraat). End of street r.a. (= Putstraat, Markt). Finish.
