Regulations

When you register for one of our marches, you agree to the provisions in our regulations.

A. Liability

  1. The Kennedy-Mars Sittard Foundation is not responsible or liable for any illness or accidents involving participants, regardless of the cause.
  2. Furthermore, the Foundation bears no responsibility for loss, theft, or any other form of damage experienced.
  3. Participation is at your own risk.

B. Participation

  1. Only marching, walking, and power walking are allowed. Running is therefore prohibited and can lead to disqualification or other measures.
  2. Wheelchair users are very welcome. However, if they are faster than the walkers, they run the risk that facilities at checkpoints may not be ready yet upon arrival.
  3. Participants must stick to the route description. This is published on the website www.kennedymars.org and is available in a printed version at the start.
  4. The use of any means of transport will result in exclusion from further participation.
  5. Walkers who, in the opinion of the organization, are no longer able to complete the march before the set finish time will be excluded from further participation.
  6. Opening hours of aid stations and checkpoints are based on an average walking speed of at least 4 km/h.

C. Control and registration

  1. The participant card is also the control card. You can only start after the card has been punched at the start.
  2. Checks take place during the marches. Our staff can be recognized by their clothing with the Kennedy-Mars logo.
  3. Participants who complete the Kennedy-Mars will have their name and hometown listed on the finishers’ overview, which is displayed on the website www.kennedymars.org, among other places. If you do not wish to be included on this list, please notify the organization. You can do this via inschrijvingen@kennedymars.org.

D. Regulations

  1. Despite the large-scale nature of the march, normal traffic rules remain fully in force. The police monitor compliance.
  2. In accordance with the A.P.V. (General Municipal Bylaw), participants must dispose of their waste in the facilities designated by the municipality. The organization also places trash cans along the route.

E. Medical examination and age

  1. Proof of medical examination is not mandatory. However, everyone is advised to have an examination to see if they are medically fit to participate.
  2. There is no minimum or maximum age for participation. However, persons under the age of 16 must have permission from parents, a guardian, or a legal representative to participate.

F. Refund of registration fees

  1. Refunds of registration fees will only be issued in the event of cancellation, minus administrative costs. These costs are €2.00 for the Kennedy-Mars, €1.00 for the Swentibold-Mars, and €0.50 for the Mini-Mars.

G. Use of photo material

  1. During this event, photos and/or videos of the registrant may be taken. These are atmospheric impressions that may be used for the Kennedy-Mars Sittard Foundation website and social media channels, articles and advertisements in magazines, TV commercials, etc.
  2. At the first request by the registrant, photo and/or video material in which the registrant is recognizably in view will be removed.
